Efficient Segment-based Image Ciphering using Discretized Chaotic Standard Map with ECB, OFB and CBC

This paper presents a block-based ciphering scheme that employs the 2D discretized chaotic Standard map (CSM) in three different operation modes. The employed modes include electronic codebook (ECB), output feedback (OFB) and cipher block chaining (CBC) In presented CSM with OFB CBC, initiation vector (IV) is as primary secret key. CBC has two merits. first merit ability of ECB, to encipher images any dimensions comparatively short time. second high level security through integration both diffusion confusion operations. Different key metrics like histogram deviation, irregular, coefficient correlation, are examined assess functionality CBC. resistance noise, uniformity histogram, encryption speed also investigated. suggested compared ECB. achieved outcomes demonstrate proposed than ECB from cryptographic viewpoint. Also, better noise immunity OFB.
